Zeven jaar geleden deelden we voor het eerst een podium, maar binnenkort staan we er weer! Het Gents Universitair Koor en het Gents Universitair Harmonie Orkest brengen voor u "Symphony nr. 5, Return To Middle Earth" van Johan De Meij. Het stuk neemt u mee op reis naar Midden-Aarde, u allen welbekend van "Lord of the Rings"
. De oplettende luisteraar kan niet alleen draken spotten
, maar ook een oprukkend orkenleger dat iedereen angst inboezemt. Het verhaal leidt u langs gevaarlijke queesten die bepalen over leven en dood en toont een - al dan niet - romantische verbintenis tussen elfen en mensen
. Laat uw gewone avond omtoveren tot een wereld waar de werkelijkheid even verdwijnt en enkel uw verbeelding u de weg kan wijzen
. Tijdens dit magische concert brengen het GUK en het GUHO niet enkel samen de symfonie, maar ook enkele stukken afzonderlijk. Laat u meeslepen door dit magisch avontuur!

It’s been seven years since we first performed together, and now we’re back! The Ghent University Choir and the Ghent University Wind Orchestra will be performing Johan De Meij’s "Symphony No. 5: Return To Middle Earth". The pieces will sweep you away to Middle-Earth, which you probably know from "Lord of the Rings". An attentive listener won’t only spot dragons, but also the impending doom of the army of orcs. The symphony will recount the stories of perilous quests that decide on life and death and show the bonds – some romantic, some not –between the elves and the humans. Let us turn your regular evening into a magical world which makes reality disappear, and let the music guide your imagination. During this magical concert the choir and orchestra will both perform the symphony together and play some pieces separately. Let yourself be swept away by this magical adventure!
